Configuring Your Sim

After selecting a raid source, choose the difficulty. Each raid difficulty maps to a gear track:

Raid DifficultyGear TrackExample ilvl Range
Raid FinderVeteran233–243
NormalChampion246–256
HeroicHero259–269
MythicMyth272–282

Within each difficulty, end bosses drop higher item level gear than early bosses. The app accounts for this automatically — you’ll see different ilvls for items from different bosses.

Select the keystone level to determine item levels:

Key LevelEnd-of-Dungeon ilvlVault ilvl
Heroic224
Mythic 0246
+2 / +3250
+4253
+5256
+6 / +7259269
+8 / +9263269
+10266272

Enabled by default. Adds tier set pieces that could be obtained via the Catalyst system. Catalyst items show a CAT badge in the item list and results.

Disabled by default. Shows items intended for other specs of your class (e.g., healing trinkets for a DPS spec). Usually not needed unless you’re gearing for multiple roles.

By default, items are simmed at their base drop level. Use this dropdown to simulate items at a higher upgrade rank — useful if you have upgrade currency (crests) saved up.

For example, simming Heroic raid items “upgraded to Hero 6/6” shows you what they’d look like at ilvl 276 instead of the base drop ilvl.

When combined with “Upgrade up to”, this also upgrades your currently equipped baseline gear to the same level. Use this to answer: “If I upgrade everything to X, which drops are still upgrades?”

Select a gem to socket into any items that have gem slots. Drop Finder doesn’t do gem optimization (that’s what Sim Gear is for) — it just uses your preferred gem for consistency.

Simulates all items as if they came from the Great Vault, which adds an extra socket. Useful when evaluating vault reward potential specifically.

The same simulation settings available in Sim Gear (fight style, duration, enemies, iterations) apply to Drop Finder runs too. Drop Finder always uses Smart Sim for faster processing.

Items you already have equipped (or a better version of) are flagged with a notice: “You are already wearing this item or a better version.” These items are still simmed — the result will show as a downgrade, confirming your current gear is better.
