What is WoW Gear Sim?
Section titled “What is WoW Gear Sim?”WoW Gear Sim is a desktop application that runs SimulationCraft 100% locally on your computer. Paste your SimC addon export, and use two powerful tools to optimize your character:
Drop Finder
Pick a content source — raid, dungeon, world bosses — and the app sims every possible drop to tell you what’s worth farming.
Why Local?
Section titled “Why Local?”Your Data Stays Private
Your character data never leaves your computer. No cloud uploads, no accounts, no waiting in queues.
Works Offline
After installation, the app runs fully offline. The bundled SimC binary and item database have everything you need.
Smart Defaults
Works out of the box with sensible settings. Advanced options (fight style, iterations, enemies) are there when you need them.
Free & Open Source
No subscriptions, no premium tiers, no ads. Run as many simulations as your CPU can handle.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”- Install the SimC addon in World of Warcraft and type
/simcin chat - Paste the export into WoW Gear Sim
- Choose your tool:
- Sim Gear — select items to compare, add gems and enchants, simulate all combinations
- Drop Finder — pick a content source, see which drops are worth farming
- Click Run — results appear ranked by DPS
